Israel Carries Out Daily Gaza Attacks
August 14, 2007
With the full support of the U.S. government, Israel is rolling into the occupied Palestinian territories with its tanks and armored vehicles and using its war planes to fire rockets on the people. Daily military incursions by the Israeli military are a fact of life in Gaza. Israel has also carried out countless military incursions into West Bank communities over the summer. Below are some recent examples of the day to day terror imposed on the Palestinian people by this brutal U.S.-Israeli aggression.
On Monday July 3, Israel launched an air strike against a vehicle in the central Gaza Strip. The vehicle struck by the Israeli missile near Mughazi refugee camp exploded on impact, wounding seven Palestinians, medics said.
On Thursday, July 5, six Palestinian resistance fighters were killed by Israeli forces. Two Palestinians were killed when an Israeli aircraft fired two missiles into a car in Gaza City. Witnesses said the rockets slammed into the vehicle at an intersection in the southern part of the city and that one bystander was wounded by shrapnel. Four Palestinians were killed during an incursion by Israeli tanks and armored vehicles into the southern Gaza Strip, sparking clashes with Palestinians as bulldozers ripped up farm land in the Rafah area, witnesses said.
Also on the same day, in the village of Al-Dhahiriyeh in the south, an 18-year-old Palestinian was shot in the chest and seriously wounded by Israeli special forces while working in his father's quarry, Palestinian medics said.
On Friday, July 6, an Israeli raid in the Bureij refugee camp killed 11 Palestinians and wounded 25 including children, according to Palestinian medics in Gaza.
On Tuesday, July 24, an Israeli air strike wounded at least five Palestinians in Gaza City on Tuesday, witnesses and medics said. A rocket slammed into a home in the Al-Nasr district after missing its target of a car, damaging a balcony on an apartment building, punching out window panes and wounding five passers-by, witnesses said.
On Saturday, August 4, two Palestinians were killed and six wounded in an Israeli air strike on two vehicles near the southern Gaza Strip's border with Egypt.
On Wednesday, August 8, Israeli troops shot dead three Palestinians. According to an Israeli Defense Forces spokesman, the three Palestinians were killed in separate incidents for getting within several hundred meters of the security fence of the Gaza border. In the midst of this slaughter, U.S. officials have promised a military aid package to Israel of $30.4 billion over the next 10 years--an increase of nearly 43% over previous years.
