The Naked Seizure of Venezuelan Oil and the Bipartisan Imperialist Cartel

August 19, 2026, The 2026 military and economic offensive against Venezuela permanently shreds the traditional diplomatic smokescreen, replacing it with the brute material fact of physical resource extraction. Under the cover of manufactured regional instability, the U.S. ruling class has transitioned from "indirect" economic restructuring to outright, colonial-style plunder.

The PDVSA Seizure and the Opaque Treasury Purse

Following the January 2026 U.S. military intervention and the abduction of President Nicolás Maduro Moros, the U.S. bypasses any sovereign transition, seizing direct physical control of state-owned PDVSA and its mineral exports. A Financial Times investigation revealed that this state-monopoly apparatus has siphoned over $13 billion in Venezuelan oil revenues in just four months.

These funds are hoarded in opaque Treasury accounts and a short-term holding account in Qatar. Despite back-to-back earthquakes on June 24, 2026, which inflicted $37 billion in infrastructure damage and left the local population facing systemic starvation, the U.S. has steadfastly withheld these stolen funds. Meanwhile, the administration openly brags on television that the U.S. is "making a lot of money" from Venezuelan oil, boasting that it took only "48 minutes to win that war" and shouting, "We brought millions of barrels of oil out."

Beyond the Illusion of the Bipartisan Spectacle

For the politically conscious worker, these vulgar boasts are not an exceptional aberration of a single president's greed, nor are they a mere "graft scheme." They are the objective, physical laws of motion of state-monopoly capitalism. To blame these crimes exclusively on a single administration is to fall victim to the treacherous constitutional illusions peddled by the Democratic Party.

The Democrats have spent decades building and defending the financial, legal, and military scaffold for this exact plunder, acting as the velvet glove of "human rights" to disguise the iron fist of resource robbery. The bipartisan system—the twin parties of big capital—functions as a single, coordinated executive committee for the Wall Street finance aristocracy. Whether they speak in the vulgar language of conquest or the hypocritical phrases of "democracy" and "humanitarian aid," their objective is identical: to violently secure foreign energy reserves, crush anti-colonial resistance, and export relations of economic subjugation.

Overthrowing the Lesser-Evil Trap

The working class cannot defeat this war machine by lining up behind the "lesser evil" of the Democratic Party. To accept the lesser-evil framing is to voluntarily step into an ideological cage designed to neutralize class independence.

The only path to ending the plunder of the Global South and exploitation at home is to smash the bipartisan dictatorship. We must reject all class-collaborationist coalitions, break the spell of the capitalist election circus, and organize an independent, mass public authority that vests sovereignty directly in the working people themselves.
